LD Debate Camp — July 31-Aug 2, 2024

Lincoln Douglas Debate examines competing value systems to answer big questions. The purpose of Lincoln Douglas is to instill in Christian homeschool students the skills of presentation, critical thinking, research, and value analysis. An LD Debate round consists of a one-on-one debate, the Affirmative competitor versus the Negative competitor, and centers on a value topic based on the current Stoa LD resolution.

Please Note: If your student is new to debate and unsure if they will participate in Team Policy or Lincoln Douglas Debate for the academic year, please have him/her register for Team Policy Track 1. All first-year Invictus Fides debate students will compete in Team Policy unless coach approval is received to compete in Lincoln Douglas.

2024-25 Stoa Lincoln Douglas Debate Resolutions:

LD students debate three resolutions.

Lincoln Douglas Resolution #1:

Resolved: The acquisition of knowledge is an intrinsic good.

The other two resolutions are:
Resolved: Mandatory national service is justified.
Resolved: In U.S. law enforcement, accountability ought to be prioritized over effectiveness.

Resolution 1: October-December 31
Resolution 2: January 1-March 9th
Resolution 3: March 10-NITOC

Please join us for competitive Lincoln Douglas Debate instruction for ages 12–18.
